DRA. VIVIANA PÉREZ JOINS TO THE MINUSPAIN TEAM AS POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH

Dra. Viviana Pérez joins to the Minuspain team as a posdoctoral research. She will work mostly with Dr. Gonzalo Yévenes in the University of Concepción.

Dra. Pérez developed her research subject by focusing on the neurotrophin signaling pathway that contributes to the cellular and molecular mechanisms which maintain the neuromuscular synapse.

Her doctoral research has shown that the p75 neurotrophin receptor regulates the synaptic vesicles’ availability, function, and structural organization of the adult neuromuscular junction. Then, in her postdoctorate financed by ANID-FONDECYT, Dra. Pérez has researched the role of BDNF/TrkB neurotrophin signaling in CREB transcription factor activation on neuromuscular synapse stability.

Thus, Viviana joins us in the molecular, cellular, and neurophysiologic knowledge of the chronic pain mechanism.

Welcome, Dr. Viviana!
